Dorset Chamber Choir announces the details of our 2026 Summer Concert: “Summertime – Choral Music by English composers from the 16th to 20th centuries”

 

This will be at a new venue for us, St Mary’s Church, Sturminster Marshall. We will be conducted by our Musical Director, John Watkins.

 

Our music comes from a range of English composers. We will be singing a set of madrigals from the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as “From the Bavarian Highlands” by Edward Elgar (1837-1934), “Four songs for sailors” by George Dyson (1883-1964) and “Choral Dances from Gloriana” by Benjamin Britten (1913-1976)

 

The concert will be on Saturday 25th July, starting at 7:00 pm, at St Mary’s Church, Church Street, Sturminster Marshall, BH21 4BU. Tickets cost £12, free for anyone under 18. They can be ordered through our website, and are also available from choir members, or at the door (cash or card payments).
